Admission to the Program
The Ed.D. program is limited to qualified candidates who have completed a master's degree or degrees, with no fewer than 60 graduate credits of study in education or related areas, and a GPA of no less than 3.5 in graduate coursework.
Potential candidates will also present teaching or leadership certification and demonstrate potential for educational leadership based on prior work experience.
Other requirements include:
• an application to Sage Graduate School [pdf]
• three letters of professional reference that address the candidate's potential in relationship to the NYSED nine essential characteristics of effective school leaders
• an on-demand writing sample to determine readiness and capability for scholarly writing
• a current resume
• a statement of career goals supporting the choice to enter doctoral study at this time
participation in a personal admission interview
• submission of official transcripts of all previous credits

Important Dates
• Application deadline: April 15
• Cohort admission decisions: First week of June
• Cohort begins in August. Students will be supplied with a complete schedule upon admission.

Financial Information
The fee for each three-credit course is $850 per credit. This is a 15% discount from the normal rate, negotiated by your union. The complete cost for the 42 credit program is $35,700. Tuition can be paid by cash, check, credit card or money order. Please note: You may pay for each course as you take it or pay per semester. Financial aid is available through Sage College. A $500 admissions deposit is due upon acceptance into the program. This deposit is refundable upon successful completion of the program.
• If you have any outstanding financial obligations, you will not be permitted to enroll in future classes. Once your account is current, you may enroll.
• CITE cannot issue transcripts. You must obtain a transcript directly from Sage.
